An ode to pressure washers

Our Bosch GHP 5-13 is the same machine you'd buy in Germany. 8 litres a minute at 130 bar. That's the pressure at roughly 4,000 feet of ocean. It strips paint. It takes dirt off metal.

This is not the usual story. The usual story is that we get the worse version. Hyundai's panel gaps here are worse than what leaves their plants abroad. The VW CBU and CKD cars are visibly better put together than the local ones. The Hilux stays CKD. Low volumes.

Where the Indian market is big enough to justify a separate spec, the company builds you a cheaper one. Where it isn't, you get the global product, because making a worse version costs more than shipping the real one. Bosch power tools. Karcher.

You don't have to look too hard. You just have to look in the right categories. Low volume products. Globally standardized. Same specs across the world.

Our pressure washer keeps our toilets and floor clean. Gym toilets usually reek. I used one two days ago and it was the usual. That smell that tells you nobody has cared in a while. Ours gets washed down twice a day and blasted with this thing once or twice a week. A clean toilet is not a nice-to-have. It's table stakes. The cheapest evidence a gym gives a damn.
