Here is a meaningless word on food packaging: Protein
4700BC calls one of its snacks Protein Pops. How much protein would you expect protein pops to contain?
Let me pop you out of your misery. It’s 4.5 grams of protein per 100 grams. As a percentage of calories you get 78 percent from carbohydrates, 10 percent from fat and 4.5 percent from protein.
If I give you a box of 20 crayons and you open the box to find only 1 crayon and 19 erasers. How underwhelmed would you feel?
In the case of The Whole Truth’s ‘too much’ protein bar, a box of 20 crayons contains just under 5 crayons.
A box of Skyr has just under 10 crayons in a box of 20 crayons.
My point is how many crayons should be in a box to call it a box of crayons. More than 8? More than 10? Until then, you need to ask yourself do you know how many crayons you are getting when you buy a box of ‘crayons’?
