What Ozempic doesn't change

Ozempic and Wegovy are fat loss drugs that are growing in popularity. They suppress appetite, make you eat less and lead to weight loss. The drugs do this through a whole host of mechanisms including slowing down digestion. It leaves you feeling fuller too as a result of slowing down how food is absorbed.

I have no clue how this will pan out in the long haul.

They are actively being prescribed by doctors in India. And I don’t refer clients to doctors who prescribe Ozempic or profit from Ozempic or similar drugs.

The drug hasn’t changed how I approach my business. Here’s why:

  1. As long as muscles need contracting, I’ll be trying to make people use their muscles and joints while having some fun along the way.
  2. The human body needs protein, fiber and healthy fat. Ozempic doesn’t change that. I’ll focus my efforts on getting people to eat quality food and moderate their energy intake.
  3. You still need to sleep on time and wake up.
  4. You need to drink water.
  5. You need to manage time and stress.
  6. You need to change your environment. The thoughts in your head about exercise. The food in your fridge. What your mind seeks out as you fall asleep.

Weight loss drugs have not changed any one of those things.

Takeaway

Nothing I have been asking my clients to do has changed in the last ten years. And this class of drugs has not changed the physics or thermodynamics that govern the human body. It manipulates your urge to eat, how often you want to eat or what you want to eat.

Those are things you can achieve with or without Ozempic and similar medication.
