Where is the Adarsh in the piece?

I am not even going to begin to debate the value of AI. I am sure it’s going to be an absolute game changer or is already a game changer. Plenty of coaches already use it. With enough data, it’s probably going to be the most accurate and dynamic meal planning tool available. I am not entirely clear how the point and shoot to give an estimate of the calorie content of food will work given the incredible variability between how a single dish can be prepared. And the more fat is incorporated into a food, the harder it will be for a photo to be accurate. A paneer tikka with 200 grams of paneer can be anywhere from 350 calories to 900 calories based on the marinade, glaze and type of paneer used. Gravies are a nightmare too. Throw in cashews, cream or ghee to complicate the equation a tonne. Much brighter minds than mine are at work to figure this out with sensors, pens and algorithms.

It’s probably going to be in motors that are going to dynamically adjust the resistance curve and load in a movement. Overload the eccentric and a lighter load for the concentric. Done. Much better than chains or bands. Weighted push ups, dips, single leg squats, hamstring curls, quad extensions. The list of moves that will benefit from a system that might give you 120 kgs of load on the way down on the squat and make it 90-95 kgs on the way up. It might even adjust the load in positions it perceives as weaker or sticky to help you along and make you more efficient. The implications for training and injury management are amazing!

It could even be a heavy handed lifestyle management tool. That literally nags you and yells at you about your sleep hygiene. Imagine a screen time that locks you out of apps or forces you to only use a workout app between 7 am and 8 am. It could be the literal emappment (embodiment as an app) of the metaphorical big brother.

But when it comes to writing, I much prefer just writing without any AI help. At a minimum, it helps me streamline my thoughts. I am still a giant mess who needs work on my coherence and presentation. After I post something, I need to go and make plenty of edits and changes. Not to the core idea or facts but to fix typos, articles and prepositions etc. If I literally ask AI to write for me or clean up all my mistakes, where is the Adarsh in the piece? Every bit of writing regardless of the subject matter is a personal statement: including all the warts, errors, tangents and convoluted thinking. Remove that and what’s the fun or value in doing it? Just a sterile bit of PR or jaded attention-seeking is all it is.
